Terms of
Service

The terms governing your use of the Glasshouse Logistics Ltd website and our freight forwarding and logistics services.

Last updated: 25 July 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Glasshouse Logistics Ltd website and the freight forwarding, customs clearance, and logistics services we provide. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Glasshouse Logistics Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is registered in England & Wales. Our registered office is at Heathrow Receiving Centre, Unit 6, Mercury Centre, Mercury Way, Feltham, TW14 0RN.

2. Definitions

“Customer”, “you”, “your” refers to any person, company, or entity that accesses our website or instructs us to provide logistics services.

“Services” refers to international air freight, ocean freight, road freight, customs clearance, warehousing, UK distribution, and any related logistics services we agree to provide.

“Shipment” refers to any goods consigned to us for carriage, storage, or handling.

3. Use of This Website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to misuse the site, including but not limited to: attempting to gain unauthorised access to systems, submitting false or misleading enquiry information, introducing viruses or malicious code, or scraping content without permission.

All content on this site — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is the property of Glasshouse Logistics Ltd or its licensors and may not be reproduced without prior written consent.

4. Quotations and Acceptance

Any freight quote provided by us is an estimate based on the information you supply and is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Quotes are subject to space availability, carrier rates, and regulatory requirements at the time of booking.

A booking is only confirmed once we have issued written acceptance of your instruction. Until that point, no binding contract for the provision of services exists.

5. Your Responsibilities

As the Customer, you warrant that:

• All information provided to us — including cargo description, weight, dimensions, value, and origin — is accurate and complete.

• Your goods are packed suitably for international transport and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

• Your goods do not contain prohibited, restricted, or illegal items without the correct licences and documentation.

• You hold all necessary permits, licences, and consents for the import or export of your goods.

You agree to indemnify us against any loss or liability arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information you provide.

6. Our Services

We act as a freight forwarder and logistics intermediary. In this capacity we arrange carriage, customs clearance, and related services through third-party carriers, agents, and authorities.

We will use reasonable skill and care in providing the Services, but published transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.

7. Standard Trading Conditions

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, our Services are provided subject to the Standard Trading Conditions of the British International Freight Association (BIFA), as amended from time to time. Copies are available on request.

Where a Shipment is carried by sea, air, or road, the relevant international conventions — including the Hague-Visby Rules, the Montreal Convention, and the CMR Convention — may apply and may limit our liability for loss or damage.

8. Charges and Payment

Our charges are as stated in your confirmed quotation or booking confirmation. Additional charges may apply where circumstances change — for example, demurrage, storage, customs duties, or additional handling.

Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at the rate of 4% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, plus any recovery costs.

9. Liability

Our liability for loss or damage to goods is limited in accordance with the applicable international conventions and the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions referenced above. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of market.

We strongly recommend that you arrange appropriate goods-in-transit and marine insurance. We can arrange insurance on your behalf if requested in writing before shipment.

10. Customs and Compliance

We will assist with customs clearance based on the information you provide. However, you remain responsible for the accuracy of all declarations and for any duties, taxes, or penalties arising from incorrect or incomplete information.

We reserve the right to refuse or suspend any shipment that we believe may breach applicable laws or regulations.

11. Cancellations

Cancellation of a booking must be made in writing. Where cancellation occurs after goods have been collected or booked with a carrier, you may be liable for costs already incurred, including carrier cancellation fees and handling charges.

12. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in providing the Services where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemic measures, port closures, or government action.

13. Links to Third-Party Sites

Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these sites and accept no liability for their use.

14. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, and brand names shown on this site are the property of Glasshouse Logistics Ltd or their respective owners. Nothing on this site grants any right to use them without prior written consent.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
